Retention Tanks

Progressive climate change generates an increasing number of extreme phenomena—from droughts to torrential rainfalls. Retention, meaning the ability to temporarily store water, is made possible by the Waterbase R line of flexible tanks. Well-organized retention provides not only the opportunity to reuse rainwater, improve the water balance, and reduce costs, but also limits localized flooding. Simple to install yet highly durable, the Waterbase R tank is a modern solution that requires no construction work and reduces necessary formalities to a minimum.

The flexible pillow design for water storage proves effective in numerous applications. In our line of industrial retention tanks (larger than standard, small residential retention systems), we have utilized materials with the highest durability, allowing us to offer a 10-year warranty. The DN80 inlet connection is designed to ensure adequate rainwater supply, while an additional Ø 15 cm flange allows for tank inspection and facilitates cleaning processes. Extraction from the tank takes place through a DN50 connection with a 2” valve, but we also offer the option to equip the tank with additional custom connections upon request.

Advantages – Retention Tanks

Dedicated to retention: A sealed retention tank is not classified as a water management structure (no water law permit required) and does not require a building permit.
Does not require construction work: A flexible tank primarily requires a flat and level surface. It can be deployed on grass, concrete slabs, or a sand bedding layer. It is not permanently anchored to the ground.
Installation in up to 30 minutes: After receiving the tank, simply unroll it in each direction and easily install the connections. Within 30 minutes, the tank will be ready for filling!
UV resistance: The PVC fabric is protected with a specialized lacquer that extends its lifespan during continuous exposure to UV radiation.
Easy to transport: The tank can be easily and quickly relocated.
Cold resistance: The tanks are resistant to sub-zero temperatures down to -30°C.

HF Technology: The use of high-frequency (HF) welding ensures a durable bond of the fabrics in key areas of the product.

Durable fabric: A special technical fabric featuring a polyester mesh and a PVC blend coating provides the necessary strength.

Waterbase R Retention Tank

The Waterbase R retention tank is a flexible and mobile water tank made of a special, multi-layer technical fabric coated with PVC, which ensures high strength and resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions. Its primary purpose is water retention—specifically, the rapid creation of storage for the temporary or permanent collection of liquids.

It is designed for the safe storage of rainwater, industrial water, graywater, and wastewater, helping to protect against drought and localized flooding. It can be easily deployed and assembled, providing an effective solution for water resource management.

Structure of the Waterbase R Tank

  • DN50 / 2” BSP Outlet Connection: Enables water extraction; equipped with an internal protective strainer, and an external valve with a Storz 52 coupling.
  • DN80 / 3” BSP Inlet Connection: A flanged connection with a 90° elbow and a Storz 75 coupling to connect the filling system.
  • Air Vent: Located at the top of the tank, it regulates internal pressure and serves an anti-overflow function.
  • Inspection Hatch (Ø 146 mm flange with cap): A wide flange that facilitates easy cleaning and inspection of the tank’s interior.
  • Reinforced Corners: Provide increased strength and durability at the most critical structural points.
  • UV-Resistant Material: The PVC fabric allows for safe year-round outdoor use and sun exposure.
