1. Does the 50m3 fire protection tank have certificates?
Yes, the 50m3 fire protection tank has a CNBOP approval certificate (no. 4983/2023), which guarantees safety and the possibility of using the product by the Fire Service.
2. How durable is the material?
The tank is made of a special PVC-coated technical fabric with a grammage of 1300 g/m², thanks to which the tank can be exposed to weather conditions for at least a dozen or so years and is highly resistant to mechanical damage. The exact technical parameters of the fabric are included in the technical data sheet.
3. Can a 50m3 fire protection tank be destroyed by animals/pests?
We have never had such cases. According to the parameters of the tank’s fabric, its coat will withstand contact with an animal (deer, roe deer, cattle). Animals usually avoid reservoirs.
4. How should the area for a 50m3 fire protection tank be prepared?
The place for the tank should be level and free from sharp elements. We recommend using sand for better cushioning and heat propagation. The requirements for foundation are included in the technical data sheet.
5. Do tanks require a building permit?
The tanks do not require a building permit.
6. Will the water in the tank freeze?
Thanks to the use of special heating mats, it is possible to use the tank all year round, including in winter.
7. How long does the flexible water tank installation process take and is it complicated?
The assembly process is relatively simple and can be done by several people within 2-3 hours.
8. What is the process of connecting heating mats?
The mats must be connected by an electrician with appropriate qualifications.
9. Are flexible fire tanks resistant to extreme weather conditions, such as low temperatures, strong winds or rain?
Yes, this was confirmed, among others, by CNBOP-PIB laboratory tests (temperature resistance). The tank and its cover are made of high-quality European components, which allows us to provide a 10-year warranty, with constant exposure of the tank to weather conditions in this part of Europe.
10. What is the process of emptying the tank of water?
The tank can be filled with air to dry or clean it. However, the remaining water and dirt can be collected from the tank by inserting the suction pipe into the flange opening (without a suction basket). More information can be found in the technical data sheet.
11. How much water remains in the tank after emptying it?
After emptying, there is a small amount of water in the tank – depending on the size, from a dozen to several dozen liters (for capacities above 200 m³).
12. What are the transport and storage options for a flexible water tank?
The tank fits on a pallet (depending on the size, it is a Euro pallet or an industrial pallet). After emptying the water, it can be transported and reinstalled anywhere.
13. How much electricity does heating the tank consume?
In the spring and autumn season (May-October) the system does not have to be turned on. In standby mode, it consumes approximately 22-36 kWh per month. However, in heating mode, consumption differs from the prevailing temperature. With a tank with a capacity of 100 m³, it is approximately 50-80 kWh per month, and with a tank with a capacity of 200 m³ is approximately 80-110 kWh per month.
Construction of the fire fighting water tank 50 m³
The “Waterbase F” tank has been designed for year-round operation, including in winter conditions. This is made possible by additional equipment, as shown in the graphic below. The tank can be connected to a pressure booster system and further expanded with an automated water level measurement system.
Flexible Tanks – Effective and compliant with polish fire safety standards
Exflo ensures compliance with applicable standards through collaboration with fire protection authorities, including the Main School of Fire Service (SGSP) in Warsaw. On July 31, 2019, SGSP prepared the “Guidelines for the use of mobile water tanks produced by EXFLO Ltd. as fire-fighting tanks.”
Exflo fire-fighting tanks do not require complex construction or preparatory work. The electric mat system offered by Exflo protects the water in the tank and the system from freezing, even in severe winter conditions.
Exflo flexible tanks, as water-based fire-fighting tanks, can be valuable support during drought seasons and periods of increased fire risk. After use, they can be folded and prepared for storage in just a few dozen minutes. Their mobility is also beneficial during the maintenance of stationary tanks, as Exflo tanks can serve as a temporary water buffer.
